Who We Are

In 1983, Town Point was established with a vision to create a private business and social club for the Hampton Roads community, bringing together Norfolk’s business and civic leaders in a setting designed for connection. Over the decades, it has become a lasting part of the city's business and social life, hosting the meetings and milestones that mark its Members' lives.

Today, Town Point continues that tradition, bringing together established leaders, rising professionals, entrepreneurs, and Members from across the city to exchange ideas and enjoy life beyond the workday.

A Vision Takes Shape

Town Point Club opened in 1983 as an original part of Norfolk’s World Trade Center, created as a distinguished setting for Members to meet, dine, and build relationships. From the beginning, the Club’s founders, including Board Members Bob Stanton and Hunter Hogan, placed an emphasis on building a diverse membership at a time when other clubs in the region still maintained exclusionary policies. That commitment, together with gracious hospitality, personal service, quality dining, and thoughtful programming, helped establish the character of Town Point Club from its earliest days.

Recognized for Excellence

In 2004, Town Point Club received the Gold Circle of Excellence Award, an honor the Club would go on to earn again in 2006, 2007, 2009, and 2013.

What membership tiers are available?
Membership options at Town Point Club include City Exchange, Resident XLife City, Young Executive XLife City, and Active Duty Military XLife City.
What benefits are included?
Included benefits span workspace access, premium dining experiences, social event participation, nationwide club network privileges and downtown-prime amenities.
Can I switch membership types later?
Yes. Members may upgrade or adjust their membership type as their lifestyle or interests change. Our Membership Directors can help tailor your membership to fit your needs.
Can I use other Invited clubs when I travel?
Yes. Through our XLife benefits, you gain access to a national network of 350+ private clubs and special privileges at partner resorts, hotels, and city clubs across the country.
Is parking available for guests?
Yes. Guests can park at Town Point Garage, across the street from Town Point Club. The first two hours are complimentary.
How do I schedule a tour of the Club?
Book a tour through our website or contact a Membership Director directly.
Do I need to make an appointment or can I just stop by?
Appointments are recommended to ensure a Membership Director is available to customize your visit.
How quickly can I join after touring?
Membership applications are often approved within a few days, so you can begin enjoying the Club almost immediately.
Are non-members able to dine at the Club?
Dining is reserved for Members and their invited guests. From time to time, we host select ticketed events; availability is announced in advance.
Can I bring a guest to the Club?
Yes. Guests are welcome when accompanied by a Member (or pre-registered). Please check in at reception upon arrival.
What makes the Club unique?
Town Point Club is the only club in our collection with The Keep, a private cigar lounge. Waterside private rooms offer sweeping views of the Elizabeth River, while a wrap-around balcony makes the most of Norfolk sunsets. Members also enjoy personalized concierge service, private touchdown rooms for conducting business, and catering for events within the Club.
What amenities does the Club offer?
Members enjoy complimentary breakfast, a hospitality station stocked with fresh coffee and cookies, and waived room rental fees for meetings and private events. Unwind in the Keep, our private cigar lounge, or step out onto the wrap-around balcony to take in expansive sunset views over the Elizabeth River.
