COURSE INFO

The Porter Valley golf course delivers a championship experience shaped by emerald fairways and refreshing mountain breezes, with multiple tee options that let every player find a round that fits. Designed by Ted Robinson, Sr., it spans 18 holes at par 70, playing 6,075 yards from the back tees.

Holes: 18   Yards: 6,075   Par: 70   Rating: 69.60   Slope: 127

1st Hole

Par 4 · 337

Pro’s Tip:
The first hole is a short par 4 that plays entirely uphill. Grassy moguls line the fairway making a level lie rare. A good drive will leave a short-iron into this green that slopes back-to-front.

Tee 1: 337

Tee 2: 316

Tee 3: 275

2nd Hole

Par 4 · 412

Pro’s Tip:
The second is a dogleg right par 4 with out-of-bounds on the left. Golfers will need to keep their tee shot down the middle in order to set up an approach into this wide green.

Tee 1: 412

Tee 2: 395

Tee 3: 380

3rd Hole

Par 3 · 139

Pro’s Tip:
The first par 3 is also the shortest on the course, but that doesn’t mean it’s the easiest. A tiered green awaits golfers. The aim should be at the center of the putting surface as anything left or right of the green can cause trouble.

Tee 1: 139

Tee 2: 135

Tee 3: 113

4th Hole

Par 4 · 352

Pro’s Tip:
This straight uphill par 4 requires a straight tee shot to set up a shorter approach into the green.

Tee 1: 352

Tee 2: 337

Tee 3: 323

5th Hole

Par 4 · 366

Pro’s Tip:
A lot of room greets players on the fifth tee box. The ideal ball flight off the tee is one that moves right-to-left to set up a relatively easy approach.

Tee 1: 366

Tee 2: 353

Tee 3: 335

6th Hole

Par 4 · 391

Pro’s Tip:
The sixth is a classic risk-reward par 4. It’s narrow and downhill, so golfers can either bomb a driver up near the green or play it safe with less club off the tee. Out-of-bounds left and right will penalize any wayward shots.

Tee 1: 391

Tee 2: 381

Tee 3: 377

7th Hole

Par 5 · 570

Pro’s Tip:
The seventh is the first and longest par 5 on the course. Out-of-bounds left and right make hitting the fairway a must. Players who hit two or three straight ones will be rewarded with a nice score.

Tee 1: 570

Tee 2: 537

Tee 3: 486

8th Hole

Par 3 · 193

Pro’s Tip:
This long par 3 features water and a bunker in front of the green. Players need to make sure they take enough club to land safely on the putting surface.

Tee 1: 193

Tee 2: 173

Tee 3: 169

9th Hole

Par 4 · 395

Pro’s Tip:
The front nine closes with one of the most difficult par 4s on the golf course. Working the ball right-to-left off the tee will set players up with the best chance of hitting the green in regulation. The putting surface is the most tiered one of all.

Tee 1: 395

Tee 2: 377

Tee 3: 367

10th Hole

Par 5 · 504

Pro’s Tip:
The back nine opens with the second par 5 on the course. It’s a dogleg right that gives players the option of aiming straight off the tee or trying to cut the corner. The approach plays straight uphill to a green that’s tiered.

Tee 1: 504

Tee 2: 488

Tee 3: 476

11th Hole

Par 4 · 277

Pro’s Tip:
Eleven is, without a doubt, the easiest hole on the course. It’s a par 4 that measures 277 yards from the black tees. Players will want to hit a straight ball off the tee and avoid the bunkers guarding the green.

Tee 1: 277

Tee 2: 260

Tee 3: 253

12th Hole

Par 3 · 200

Pro’s Tip:
The twelfth is one of the more difficult par 3s, measuring 200 yards from the black. Missing left or right will make this hole even harder.

Tee 1: 200

Tee 2: 176

Tee 3: 160

13th Hole

Par 5 · 455

Pro’s Tip:
This par 5 is the shortest on the course, measuring only 455 yards from the black tees. It’s easy to get home in two for a lot of players, but it’s fairly narrow. A strong drive can set up an iron into the green.

Tee 1: 455

Tee 2: 433

Tee 3: 411

14th Hole

Par 3 · 217

Pro’s Tip:
The fourteenth is the longest par 3 on the golf course at 217 yards from the black tees. Players must keep their tee shot straight as anything left or right brings a big number into play.

Tee 1: 217

Tee 2: 200

Tee 3: 186

15th Hole

Par 4 · 377

Pro’s Tip:
This dogleg left par 4 plays downhill. Off the tee, players will want to avoid missing too far right or they’ll find themselves in the trees. A right-to-left ball flight will set up an easy approach into the green.

Tee 1: 377

Tee 2: 341

Tee 3: 333

16th Hole

Par 3 · 176

Pro’s Tip:
Sixteen is the final par 3 on the golf course. Players should be careful not to miss long of the green.

Tee 1: 176

Tee 2: 160

Tee 3: 145

17th Hole

Par 4 · 328

Pro’s Tip:
The seventeenth is a dogleg left par 4 with water guarding the front of the green. The ideal tee shot is a long-iron straight down the middle to set up a wedge in.

Tee 1: 328

Tee 2: 321

Tee 3: 313

18th Hole

Par 4 · 401

Pro’s Tip:
The finishing hole is a beautiful downhill par 4. A straight drive will set up a fairly short approach into the green.

Tee 1: 401

Tee 2: 386

Tee 3: 374
