Ebb & Flow

Ebb & Flow is the heartbeat of the Club, business by day, electric by night. Set above the city with sweeping views and a relaxed coastal feel, it’s a place to drop in, settle in, and stay longer than planned. Inspired by a Baja-to-the-Bay perspective, the menu draws a line from bold coastal flavors to clean, market-driven California cooking. Coffee in the morning gives way to sunset happy hours, as the room begins to hum and the energy builds into the night.

The menu leans seasonal and ingredient-driven, fresh seafood, prime cuts, and vibrant local produce, paired with a cocktail program built for the second round, and a wine list that never misses.

Led by Executive Chef Nate Horton, the kitchen keeps things elevated without ever feeling overdone. Come for dinner. Stay for the bar. End up knowing the table next to you.

Knead BAKERY

Located on the first floor of Symphony Towers, the aroma of fresh breads and pastries welcomes members each morning. Knead, our artisan bakery, brings handcrafted quality and bold flavor to everyday moments. 

​Start the day with a pastry, grab coffee between meetings, or take home a warm loaf. With a seasonal, made-from-scratch menu, Knead is a welcoming gathering spot where exceptional baking is always close at hand.​ 

Meet Our Executive Chef

Chef Nate Horton leads the culinary vision at the University Club, bringing a style rooted in vibrant ingredients and global influence. Raised between San Diego and his family’s ranch in Valle de Guadalupe, his cooking reflects a blend of cultures, from his Mexican heritage to the Cambodian traditions of his stepmother.

After honing his craft in San Francisco, including opening his own Japanese steakhouse, Chef Nate developed an approach defined by bold flavors, thoughtful restraint, and simplicity. At the Club, he celebrates San Diego’s coastal bounty with dishes designed to surprise, delight, and bring people together.

Included benefits span workspace access, premium dining experiences, social event participation, nationwide club network privileges and downtown-prime amenities.
Is there a corporate membership option?
Yes. There are membership categories and packages tailored for professionals and companies, including options with enhanced dining or travel and golf benefits suited for group or corporate use.
What services and items are included in the site fee?
The starting site fee typically includes tables, chairs, linens, flatware, glassware, china, and set-up/clean-up.
Are catering and bar services provided in-house?
Yes, full catering and bar services are offered through the Club, with chef-crafted cuisine and beverage packages including house wine, beer, and liquors.
