About Garret

Before coming to Gainey Ranch, Garret was General Manager at our sister club Seville Golf & Country Club in Gilbert, Az. Garret’s professional career with Invited began in January 2007 when he was appointed General Manager at Indian Wells Country Club. In 2010 he was appointed as General/Regional Manager at Mission Hills Country Club in Rancho Mirage, Ca. Prior to Invited, Garret was the Director of Operations at La Quinta Resort & Club, where he was responsible for resort operations and the Tennis Club at this 800-room historic resort. From 1993 – 98, Garret worked for ITT Sheraton. He spent four years as Assistant Hotel Manager/Director of Guest Services at the Five-Star Phoenician Resort in Scottsdale, and 1 year at the Sheraton Chicago Hotel & Towers. From 1988 – 1993, Garret was at the Five-Diamond Scottsdale Princess Resort in a variety of management positions including; Golf Coordinator where he worked closely with the TPC of Scottsdale, and was the Director of Guest Services in addition to other resort management duties. After graduating from the University of Arizona, Garret worked at the Ventana Canyon in Tucson, Az. Garret is Married to his wife Janice, they have two adult children, Sydney and Brooks - who also live in Scottsdale.

About Kurt

Kurt has been the Membership Director at our sister property, Indian Wells Country Club, in Indian Wells California for the last 4 years. He has been at multiple clubs in the Desert including Rancho La Quinta Country Club and Andalusia Country Club and is an avid golfer. Kurt is a graduate of ASU where he was a starting pitcher for the Sun Devils and went on to play in the Cincinnati Reds organization for 4 years. Kurt has many connections/relationships in the Scottsdale/Phoenix area and is excited to move back to what he calls home.  Kurt’s wife Anna, works for PGA West as a membership director. Their son Kole, will be attending ASU. Kurt's first day will be September 25th and we hope you give him a warm welcome into the Gainey Family.  

About Randy

Randy comes from a long line of “Arizonans." As a 5th generation Arizona native, he completed his high school education at Shadow Mountain High School, attended Phoenix College on a two-year golf scholarship, and then attended Arizona State University. Randy began his golf career in outside service and then as an assistant professional at the old Scottsdale Country Club, followed by an assistant professional position at Acacia Country Club in Lyndhurst, Ohio. Upon returning from Ohio, Randy accepted a position at The Orange Tree Golf Resort, where he spent 27+ years working as an assistant professional, then Head Golf Professional, and finally Director of Golf Operations. Randy has been a Class A Member of the PGA of America - Southwest Section since 1990. Besides his many work accomplishments, Randy has had an extensive and successful playing career within the PGA Southwest Section with numerous individual, professional team, and pro-am victories in both junior (pre-age 50) and now senior tournaments (post-age 50). As a senior player in the Southwest Section PGA, he earned Player of the Year honors in 2017 and again in 2019. Randy's wife Jeanne is a longtime flight attendant with Delta Airlines, and his daughter Taylor is currently a senior at Cactus Shadows High School. We are pleased to have Randy aboard, and this upcoming season will be his 13th season at the Gainey Ranch Golf Club as PGA Director of Player Development.

About Cindy

Cindy Mydock started her career working for Gainey Ranch Golf Club shortly after it opened, beginning in the late 80s. Cindy is an Arizona Native from the beautiful mountains of Flagstaff, Arizona. While working for the club, she went after her passion for the outdoors and obtained a degree in Ornamental Horticulture. Today, Cindy works directly with the Director of Agronomy and is part of the team that keeps the course in pristine condition.

About Mark

Mark Stombaugh is originally from Northern Indiana but moved to sunny Arizona as a child. He is married with three adult children and seven grandchildren. Mark and his wife Jackie live in Cave Creek and enjoy golfing, wine dinners, and trying all the new restaurants here. As a hotelier, Mark has worked in Meeting, Event Planning, and Food & Beverage at The Phoenician Resort, Hilton Scottsdale, Doubletree Paradise Valley, The Boulders, and The Scottsdale Resort at McCormick Ranch. He is very excited to join the team here at Gainey Ranch Golf Club.

About Antonio

Antonio grew up in Tucson, Arizona, where his family owned a Mexican Restaurant for twenty-seven years called Casa Chimichanga, well-known for their original creation of a “foot-long” Chimichanga. Antonio attributes his love of cooking was developed during this time and says – “I feel cooking is in my blood." Antonio attended Flowing Wells High School and completed his education at Pima Community College. He then went on to begin his culinary career at the Westin La Paloma Resort, followed by chef positions at several local Clubs and Resorts. During this period, he was privileged to receive culinary training under one of the James Beard Award Winners and held the Executive Chef position at AJ’s Fine Foods for four years. Transferring from The Arizona Sands Club in Tucson, Antonio and his family now live in Scottsdale, where he is the Executive Sous-Chef at Gainey Ranch.
