The Arroyo Course is the longest of Gainey Ranch's three championship nines, winding through the beauty of Scottsdale's Sonoran Desert before finishing with a memorable lake-lined hole and signature peninsula green.

1st Hole

Pro’s Tip:

The Arroyo Course starts out with a short par 4, defined by the fairway bunkers on the right and the arroyo on the left and in front of the green. Long hitters may need to lay back of the trouble. The green has a large ridge in the middle, be sure to check the hole location so your approach finds the proper side.

2nd Hole

Pro’s Tip:

This long par 3 is protected by 2 large eucalyptus trees in front of the right corner of the green. A left to right shot shape is a must to get near the back right hole location.

3rd Hole

Par 4 · 374

Pro’s Tip:

Longer hitters will want to take on the bunker at the corner of this dogleg left par 4. A tee shot that carries the left bunker will leave a wedge shot into this severely sloping green.

Pro’s Tip:

This longer par 4 plays slightly uphill. To set up the best angle into the green you need to challenge the arroyo on the right. The hourglass shaped green requires a precise approach shot.

5th Hole

Par 5 · 533

Pro’s Tip:

A fun par 5 that doglegs to the right, this hole challenges players to hit a high left to right shot over the trees guarding the right corner. If you can clear the trees getting on the green in 2 is very possible. Players who lay up must negotiate the arroyo that crosses the fairway.

Pro’s Tip:

This shorter par 3 is defined by the beautiful waterfall and lake to the right. Distance control is paramount to setting up a birdie putt.

Pro’s Tip:

Players must decide on the tee if they want to lay back from the right fairway bunkers and leave a longer approach, or challenge the bunkers and arroyo with driver to leave a wedge shot into the green.

Pro’s Tip:

This fairway ends 265 yards from the Gold Tees, so long hitters may need to lay back with something less than driver off the tee. The pitch of the green makes getting up and down from an errant approach difficult.

A great finish to the Arroyo Course, this demanding risk/reward par 5 plays along the lake - all the way down the left side of the hole to the undulating peninsula green.
