WIL Roundtable Lunch with Sharon Moe

The Importance of Candor Let’s be honest, being candid can be difficult, but it is necessary in life and in business. We have been raised in a society where politeness is encouraged and we are told that “if we can’t say something nice, don’t say anything at all”. But can we be polite and empathetic without sacrificing honesty? Of course we can! In this round table discussion, we will talk about how avoiding giving negative feedback can be more hurtful than the feedback itself. We will talk about strategies for having difficult but honest conversations in order to have more productive and inspired relationships with your employees, managers and clients. Complimentary event | This luncheon will be a limited a la carte menu, member discounts won't apply. Introducing our moderator: Sharon Moe is the Market President for North State Bank’s Downtown Raleigh office, focusing on Business Development and Commercial Lending. She has been working in banking since 1998. Sharon has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Russian studies from The College of William and Mary in Williamsburg, VA, as well as an MBA with a concentration in finance from New York University’s Leonard N. Stern School of Business in New York, NY. Active in the community, she serves on the board of directors for Shop Local Raleigh, Urban Ministries of Wake County, The Greater Raleigh Chamber of Commerce, and the Centre for Homeownership and Economic Development. She is also a member of Triangle Commercial Real Estate Women as has served as a past chair of the Downtown Raleigh Alliance. Away from work, Sharon enjoys spending time outdoors with her husband and 2 children.
