Breakfast with an Executive: Steven Maly - Founder and CEO of AFC Logistics

May 8 | 8 AM Steven Maly serves as the founder and CEO of AFC Logistics, a company at the forefront of transforming the logistics and transportation landscape. Graduating with a degree in Cybernetics, Steven embarked on his entrepreneurial journey at the age of 20, immigrating to the United States in pursuit of the American Dream. Faced with the economic downturn of the late 2000s, he transitioned into the trucking industry, obtaining a CDL license. As a truck driver, Steven identified numerous inefficiencies within the industry, motivating him to establish AFC Transport in 2012, operating initially from his truck's bunk. Concurrently, he met his future wife, leveraging their combined expertise to streamline operations and prioritize driver welfare. This led to the formation of AFC Logistics in 2016, addressing gaps in freight brokerage services. Under Steven's leadership, AFC Logistics experienced exponential growth, relocating its headquarters to Downtown Tampa in 2022. Despite market fluctuations, the company achieved remarkable success, earning recognition as the #2 Fastest Growing Company in Tampa Bay for 2022, with a growth rate of 1,179.39%. Additionally, AFC Logistics secured the #2 position in the Logistics and Transportation category on the Inc 5000 list. Steven's leadership ethos emphasizes values such as Excellence, Integrity, Empowerment, Agility, and Innovation, fostering a collaborative environment focused on efficiency and employee well-being. Helping Hands Happy Hour: Frameworks of Tampa Bay
Helping Hands Happy Hour is geared to not only raise funds for the organization, but also to raise awareness and be a platform for our local charities to spread the word about what they do and how we can get involved. Thursday, May 9 | 5:30 p.m. This month's Helping Hands Happy Hour benefits: Frameworks of Tampa Bay Imagine if every child in our community enjoyed going to school, made friends easily, and graduated on time. At Frameworks of Tampa Bay, we not only believe that world is possible; we know how to achieve it. The secret? Emotional Intelligence. But just like children aren’t born knowing their ABCs and 123s, emotional intelligence is something they much learn at home and school. That’s where Frameworks comes in. Frameworks is the leading nonprofit dedicated to equipping all children in our community with the knowledge and know-how to become kind, collaborative, and capable citizens. With the complex challenges kids face today, we provide positive and personalized learning experiences that develop their emotional intelligence (EQ) – the critical skills necessary to navigate any emotion, conversation or situation, no matter how difficult.
