Nestled in Acworth, Georgia, amid rolling hills and towering Georgia pines, Brookstone's championship golf course offers a memorable North Atlanta golf experience. Designed by Larry Nelson, the par-72 layout features 18 scenic holes, manicured greens, and 6,815 yards of challenge from the back tees.

1st Hole

Par 4 · 400

Pro’s Tip:

The beginning of your round at Brookstone starts from one of the various layered tees at the first hole. This area is set among landscaped surroundings that warmly greet each player to a new round. The first hole is a stern test, playing longer than the 400 yards shown on the card, due to the uphill climb and incoming breezes. The sand bunker in the right rough beyond the dogleg becomes the target for the tee shot; it is most advantageous to hit a long shot, clearing the deck of the fairway and favoring the right side. From this you have a favorable approach to a narrow green that is guarded on the left by a deeply cut grass bunker. What this hole gives the player in the absence of a sand trap, it takes back in length and competing natural elements.

2nd Hole

Par 3 · 245

Pro’s Tip:

The second hole is a fearsome par 3 at 245 yards. The tee shot warrants careful study as different teeing positions, swirling breezes, and a downhill target combine to make club selection difficult. The proper shot into this green is a slight draw, but one may choose to run an approach as the ground slopes from south to north. The creek flowing along the left edge of the green is the primary hazard; those who miss their shots encounter sand, a water hazard, or even a lost ball.

3rd Hole

Par 5 · 545

Pro’s Tip:

The 545 yard third hole at Brookstone will challenge the golfer to accurately place a variety of shots. From the tee, a player should aim just left of the small pond; long hitters, however, may choose to drive down the narrow stretch of fairway beyond the first turning point in exchange for a better chance of reaching this green in two. The sand bunker to the right of the green is an excellent target for long and short hitters alike. A good second shot by the average player will result in a final approach of approximately 100 yards. A long hitter may choose to aim at the sand bunker and hit a running hook up the slope to the green. The penalty for too much hook could be either water or a difficult chip from a grass bunker. Getting a wedge shot close to the hole will be difficult since this green is shallow and angles away from the golfer. A par or birdie at this par 5 will, indeed, be well earned.

4th Hole

Pro’s Tip:

The fourth hole is reminiscent of those found at Shinnecock Hills, one of Larry Nelson's favorite courses. At 170 yards, it offers a welcome relief from the stern challenges encountered during the first three holes. The green is cut into a steepened slope and favors a slight fade off the tee. Four traps circle the front half of this green so if club selection is in question, choose the longer club. There are two distinct landing decks or fairway pads for the very short approaches to this hole.

5th Hole

Pro’s Tip:

It is Larry Nelson's design philosophy that every golf course should contain at least one great "short par 4". The fifth hole is just that at 320 yards. The tee is elevated some sixty feet above the green and is easily within reach with a long, daring tee shot. For those who gamble for this green in one, there are plenty of strategically placed hazards (sand and grass bunkers, trees) to punish wayward tee shots. Simply put, those who stand on this tee with a driver can find a six as easily as an eagle or a birdie. For those who sacrifice distance from the tee and choose to hit an iron, a well guarded green becomes the challenge for a longer second shot.

6th Hole

Pro’s Tip:

Accuracy is everything at the 370 yard, sixth hole. The creek running the distance of this hole is the primary hazard of this medium length par 4. The landing area from the tee becomes narrowed with distance, and it is the area where the creek becomes a watery punishment for the errant shots. The long, narrow green demands an accurate approach shot. Three bunkers flank the right, putting a premium on a tee shot left near the creek. Be careful, as the approach can vary as much as three clubs with pin position.

Pro’s Tip:

The seventh hole covers a long portion of real estate. At 510 yards, it will be reached in two by only the longest hitters. The ideal tee shot will carry the deck in the fairway, leaving the player with a favorable approach to the green. For those who fail to carry this deck or play a running hook into it a deep bunker may pose a problem for their second shot. In laying up for position on this hole, the bank bordering the right of the fairway becomes a good general target. The green is well guarded by bunkers on the left and favors incoming shots from the right portion of the fairway. The upper deck to this green will provide tough pin positions, during tournaments, making this hole a very respectable par five.

Pro’s Tip:

The ninth hole is one of natural beauty. At 385 yards, it places less of a premium on distance but requires utmost accuracy. From the tee, placement of a shot on the right side of the fairway is challenged by a creek running on the right, from tee to green. A hooked shot from the tee runs into danger with a longer approach and, possibly, an out-of-bounds penalty. The green is nestled among hardwoods that provide a natural backdrop for the last approach to this nine. The golfer should be cautioned to check the wind direction in approaching this green, as swirling winds may play havoc with lofted shots.

10th Hole

Pro’s Tip:

The tenth hole measures 405 yards and is a straight forward par 4. The clump of trees in the left rough is a natural target from the tee and placing the ball along the left edge of the fairway provides the best angle for one's second shot, especially with the pin at the rear. The green is well suited for a faded approach, but you must be careful not to miss this green as two pot bunkers stand eager to engulf shots. Additionally, this green is well protected in front on either side by large traps that may test one's "long trap play".

11th Hole

Pro’s Tip:

Accuracy becomes the premium at the 360 yard, eleventh hole. One's tee shot should be placed down the right side of the fairway as the green opens from this angle. Errant shots from the tee will soon find an abundance of trees off the right rough or the lateral creek, meandering just outside the left fairway. The second shot requires careful club selection since the long narrow green will make for many tough pin placements. Getting the ball close will challenge any player's short iron play, for three distinct decks will separate the good and bad approaches. Missing the green in any direction will most assuredly find one playing from the many sand and grass bunkers.

12th Hole

Pro’s Tip:

At 200 yards, the twelfth hole completes the balance of par 3's at Brookstone because it calls for a long iron shot from the tee. The green is angled to the left and away from the golfer in classic Redan style where the golfer has the choice of carrying the sand bunker on the left for a short birdie, or playing safely to the right, resulting in a longer putt over a ridge bisecting the green. The green at the twelfth is defined by mounds of various heights, and the only severe trouble is the 30-yard sand bunker to the left of the fairway; this hazard will penalize most hooked shots falling short of the green.

13th Hole

Pro’s Tip:

Thirteen is perhaps the toughest par 5 at Brookstone. It is a long hole at 550 yards and requires many accurate shots from the golfer. The tee shot will challenge the player to carry as much of the pond that is within his/her skills in exchange for a closer second shot and better vision around the dogleg point. The second landing area lies some 100 yards from the green and is well protected on the left by a stream and grass bunkers. The final approach calls for a short iron to a difficult green. The putting surface is elevated some ten feet above the golfer along a steepened bank that will turn away the shots failing in distance. Other shots missing their mark are most likely to find the sand or grass bunkers that surround this green.

14th Hole

Par 4 · 440

Pro’s Tip:

The fourteenth hole is a slight dogleg left, measuring some 440 yards. A creek runs along the left rough and crosses the fairway approximately 300 yards from the back tee. Optimum position from the tee is along the right side of the fairway at about 270 yards. The green is similar in shape to the previous hole, but it is better guarded by two bunkers, a series of sculpted mounds, and grass bunkers. The prevailing breezes will tend to carry the most lofted shots to the right side of the green. Golfers awaiting their putts on the fourteenth should notice the natural rock outcropping behind the green, that dances along the sloping hillside.

15th Hole

Pro’s Tip:

Fifteen is a short par 3 measuring 165 yards from the back tee. The long narrow green is angled away from the golfer and is surrounded by a large sand bunker that starts at the tee and goes on to surround the entire green. A player should not be surprised to see many difficult pin positions on this green, for its shape and three-tiered surface will make one work for his/her score of par. Proper club selection is the key to this hole. The fifteenth proves that a short par 3 can be a great par 3, while providing nice variety to the other longer holes on the course.

16th Hole

Pro’s Tip:

A golfer's strategy for the sixteenth hole will change daily, depending on where the pin is located on the three lobed green. The left side of the fairway is a wise shot from the tee, with tight pin placements, while the right side of the fairway favors shots into a left pin position. Reaching these landing areas is not an easy chore as a natural ditch (left) and out-of-bounds (right) play upon the golfer's psyche. The sixteenth green is among the best guarded at Brookstone; four traps circle three quarters of this green while the rear portion is backed with mounds, forcing delicate chips back to the putting surface.

17th Hole

Pro’s Tip:

Seventeen is a stern test at 440 yards. The ideal tee shot is a slight hook that rests along the left edge of the fairway The entrance to this green is well guarded by sand on both sides. Beyond the green is a series of grass bunkers. The elevated pot bunker behind the green is a good target from the left portion of the fairway. A good long iron shot is the key to the hole.

18th Hole

Pro’s Tip:

A final challenge was left for the eighteenth hole. It is similar in character to the thirteenth where the player can, after a successful tee shot, gamble for the green in two. A large pond awaits those shots that are hooked or pulled left of the green. The eighteenth green has four distinct lobes and, at 7650 square feet, is the largest green at Brookstone. There are a number of great pin positions available in making the eighteenth a challenging, yet appropriate, finishing hole.

What’s the difference between Golf and Social memberships?

Golf memberships include access to golf courses at the Club, along with full use of practice facilities, racquet sports, fitness, aquatics, dining, and social programming. Social memberships focus on lifestyle amenities such as dining, aquatics, fitness, racquet sports, and the social calendar, but do not include full golf privileges.

Can I switch membership types later?

Yes. Members may upgrade or adjust their membership type as their lifestyle or interests change. Our Membership Directors can help tailor your membership to fit your needs.

Do my kids get access too?

Absolutely. Memberships at our Club extend to your spouse and dependent children under the age of 25. Kids can enjoy junior golf, tennis, pickleball, aquatics programs, and a variety of youth activities.

What is the guest policy?

Members are welcome to bring guests to experience the Club. Guest fees or usage restrictions may apply depending on the amenity, and advance reservations are recommended for golf, racquet sports, or dining.

What is the dress code?

Resort-casual in the clubhouse; proper golf or tennis attire on the courses and courts. Soft-spike golf shoes only. Fitness apparel is for the gym; swimwear requires a cover-up outside the pool area. Please avoid ripped denim, cut-offs, and gym wear in dining spaces.

How do I schedule a tour of the club?

Reach out to our Membership Team to book an appointment—use the inquiry form, call the club, or email your preferred date/time. Private tours are scheduled throughout the week.

Are non-members able to dine at the club?

Dining is reserved for Members and their invited guests. From time to time, we host select ticketed events; availability is announced in advance.

Can I bring a guest to the club?

Yes. Guests are welcome when accompanied by a Member (or pre-registered), and standard guest fees/policies apply for golf, racquets, fitness, and aquatics. Please check in at reception or the appropriate shop on arrival.

What is the best way to reserve a tee time?

Use the Member app/online portal for the fastest booking, or contact the Golf Shop for assistance with pairings and special requests. Standard advance-booking and cancellation windows apply.

How do I schedule a tour of the club?

Do I need to make an appointment, or can I just stop by?
