Home to THE CJ CUP Byron Nelson and recognized by AvidGolfer as one of the best clubs in DFW, TPC Craig Ranch delivers a championship golf experience in the heart of McKinney. Originally designed by Tom Weiskopf and recently redesigned by Lanny Wadkins through a $22 million renovation, the par-72 layout stretches more than 7,438 yards and challenges players with strategic shot values, dramatic bunkering, and tournament-caliber conditions.

Pro’s Tip:

You have to make a decision with your tee shot to take on the left fairway bunker or not. The second shot plays about half a club uphill to a blind landing area. The ideal approch shot favors the left side of the green, there is a slope on the middle right side that take the ball to a run off area.

Pro’s Tip:

There is more room on the right side off the tee than it appears. Playing down the left side of the fairway will give you a better angle to attack the green.The green slopes right to left, the best miss is either short or long and left.

You can be aggressive off the tee and try to catch the slope behind the bunker to have a short iron approch. If you play safe off the tee and land in the fattest part of the fairway you will have a mid to long iron approch. The green has a false front.

The first of our Par 3's. This hole should be a mid to long iron. Avoid the big bunker short left of the green.

Pro’s Tip:

This long par 5 is downwind with the predominant South wind. Long hitters may choose less than driver off the tee. There is more room left once you're inside 150 yards, this also give you the best angle to attack the green. There is a big slope front left of the green, this helps you get close with a front pin location.

Pro’s Tip:

This is a short par 4 that brings a lot of stratagy into play. The fairway is well protected by bunkers, if you want to attack this hole finding the fairway is a must. If you hit driver off the tee and get to close to the green, attacking a front pin location is difficult. This is one of our smallest greens, be aggressive if find the fairway and have a wedge in your hand.

This is a large green that slopes back to front. It is best to miss your tee shot short right, this will give you the best oppurtunity to get up and down.

This is a tough tee shot on a windy day because of the forced carry. Plenty of room right off the tee, playing down the left side will result in more run out and better angle to the green. The big decision you have to make is with your lay up, being aggressive and taking on the creek opens up the green for third shot. This green has three tiers, distance and spin control with your wedge shot is a must.

This hole normally plays down wind. Avoiding the fairways bunkers allows you to attack this green. This green is large with suttle breaks, making reading putts difficult.

The tee shot is tougher than if looks, it plays uphill and normally has a left to right wind. The second shot plays at least a club more and you can not see the putting surface. The green slopes back to front so the prefered miss is short.

The ideal tee short is down the left side of the fairway, the fairway slope left to right.The longer player can attack this green in two, most players will lay up short of the creek. The front half of the green slops back to back to front, the back half slope hard right to left.

Pro’s Tip:

This is probably the toughest par four on the course. The tee shot plays uphill and has a big forced carry over bunkers and a creek. There is a bail out left for shorter hitters.The green is protected both front and back with bunker, missing short and left will give you the best chance for getting up and down. The green has a ridge running through it, front to back.

Pro’s Tip:

This short par four is a through risk/reward hole. The shorter hitters have to decide what yardage second shot they want to have, there is more room right off the tee than appears. Most big hitter will take on the green, the bunkers right are always there to catch a bail out shot. This is one of our most undulated greens, you have to be accurate with your wedges if you want to make birdie.

This is a mid to long iron par three, with the water down the left side the bunkers right see a lot of action. The green has a ridge that runs up the middle from front to back that creates a bowl for middle/front pins.

Pro’s Tip:

A long and testing par four, into the wind this hole will challenge the best of players. You have to avoid the bunkers down the left if you want to hit this green in two. The bunkers front right hide what is one of the biggest greens on the course. Hitting the middle of this green is never a bad play. There is a severe slope on the left side of the green, and getting up and down from the chipping area is hard.

A true sleeper par 3, don't let the yardage fool you. The wind will make hitting this green a true test. Any shot coming up short will be punished by the false front on the green and may roll back into the front bunker.

Another risk/reward hole to finsh, there is a large landing area for those who have to lay up. The longer hitter off the tee will have an approach shot between 220-250 to the middle of the green. This green has two distinct levels, and if you want to make birdie being on the correct level is a must.
