Join us for a dynamic discussion with author, Cassie Kifer, and take a deep dive into her book about the "weird, wonderful, and obscure" aspects of our beloved San Jose. Books will be available for purchase and opportunities for signing by the author. About the Author: Cassie Kifer is the author of San Jose Scavenger: The Ultimate Search for San Jose's Hidden Treasures and Secret San Jose: A Guide to the Weird, Wonderful, and Obscure. Her travel writing has appeared in Via/AAA Magazine, Fodor’s Travel, Delta Sky, Thrillist, and other publications. During the week she works for the County of Santa Clara and on weekends you can find her seeking interesting culinary and cultural experiences and hiking the South Bay’s many parks and open spaces with her husband and rescue dog, Petey. They live in San Jose’s historic Naglee Park neighborhood.

Join us for the Community Impact Council for a day of service volunteer outing at "Sacred Heart Community Services" Date and time: Saturday, October 21 from 9 am - noon. Location: Sacred Heart Community Services, 1381 S 1st St, San Jose, CA 95110 at Alma Ave. Please arrive about 10 minutes before your volunteer event and enter through the Volunteer and Staff Entrance which is at the back of the building closest to 1st St. Dress code: Please make sure to wear closed-toed shoes for your safety. Gloves will be provided and masks are optional. Parking: Our parking lot is reserved for members receiving services. There is ample parking available in the surrounding neighborhood and it is safe to park in. Please see the map below for available street parking. Carpooling is recommended. Join us for the Community Impact Council for a day of service volunteer outing at "Sacred Heart Community Services" Date and time: Saturday, October 21 from 9 am - noon. Location: Sacred Heart Community Services, 1381 S 1st St, San Jose, CA 95110 at Alma Ave. Please arrive about 10 minutes before your volunteer event and enter through the Volunteer and Staff Entrance which is at the back of the building closest to 1st St. Dress code: Please make sure to wear closed-toed shoes for your safety. Gloves will be provided and masks are optional. Parking: Our parking lot is reserved for members receiving services. There is ample parking available in the surrounding neighborhood and it is safe to park in. Please see the map below for available street parking. Carpooling is recommended.
