Firethorne is always available to fulfill the needs of our tennis and pickleball enthusiasts. Whether you are a beginner or a tournament-level player, Firethorne Racquet Sports offers lessons, events, and leagues. We have three on-staff professionals, offering clinics and lessons year-round. League play is a large component of the racquet sports program, with men's, women's, and children's teams at all levels. Firethorne Racquet Sports also offers monthly tennis and pickleball socials.

Meet Our Pros

Wade Liles
Wade has been a part of the Firethorne Management team since 1999. He was once ranked 8th in the nation in doubles at Methodist University. Currently, he is a USTA high-performance coach and certified P-1 with the USPTA. When Wade is not on the court, you’ll find him spending time with his wife and 2 kids, enjoying Panthers football, and grilling.

Joe Dunphy
Joe has been at Firethorne Country Club for 18 years. He graduated from Catawba College in 1995 where he played on the tennis team. Joe's hobbies include tennis, pickleball, playing the Guitar, reading, and spending time with his wife and 3 children.

Eddie Jalomo
Eddie Jalemo was born and raised in San Antonio, Texas. He began his career as a tennis teacher in 2005 and has since become a USPTA Elite Professional. He has been in Charlotte for 18 years and at Firethorne for 7 years. Eddie enjoys playing disc golf in his free time.
