The menu leans seasonal and ingredient-driven, fresh seafood, prime cuts, and vibrant local produce, paired with a cocktail program built for the second round, and a wine list that never misses. With a seasonal, made-from-scratch menu, Knead is a welcoming gathering spot where exceptional baking is always close at hand.

Chef Nate Horton leads the culinary vision at the University Club, bringing a style rooted in vibrant ingredients and global influence. Raised between San Diego and his family’s ranch in Valle de Guadalupe, his cooking reflects a blend of cultures, from his Mexican heritage to the Cambodian traditions of his stepmother. After honing his craft in San Francisco, including opening his own Japanese steakhouse, Chef Nate developed an approach defined by bold flavors, thoughtful restraint, and simplicity. At the Club, he celebrates San Diego’s coastal bounty with dishes designed to surprise, delight, and bring people together.
