Opal's Walk for Freedom Tower Club Dallas is taking it's members to Fair Park for the annual freedom walk in celebration of Juneteenth Please meet at African American Museum of Dallas, 3536 Grand Ave, Dallas, TX On Wednesday, June 19th, Ms. Opal Lee will complete her annual 2.5-mile walk @ the African American Museum of Dallas to recognize the 2.5 years it took for the news and enforcement of freedom to reach the enslaved people in Texas. Now a national holiday, Juneteenth celebrates the freedom gained when slavery was abolished all across the country. Unity Unlimited and Ms. Opal continue her walks to educate the nation on the importance of understanding that freedom is for everyone. Volunteer Day at The Bridge
Volunteer Day at the Bridge The Stewpot is the sole meal provider at The Bridge Homeless Recovery Center which is located at 1818 Corsicana. At The Stewpot's Second Chance Cafe we serve three meals a day every day of the year! To do so we need volunteers to help serve food onto each tray, clean up, serve drinks, etc. All volunteers for Meal Services must be 18 years or older. Meals are served at 1818 Corsicana Street. Please park in the parking lot at the corner of St. Paul and Corsicana in any open spot. Enter through our kitchen door marked with a Stewpot sign. It is near the pull-through loading area in the parking lot. We look forward to seeing you at 7:15 am. Volunteer Day at the Bridge The Stewpot is the sole meal provider at The Bridge Homeless Recovery Center which is located at 1818 Corsicana. At The Stewpot's Second Chance Cafe we serve three meals a day every day of the year! To do so we need volunteers to help serve food onto each tray, clean up, serve drinks, etc. All volunteers for Meal Services must be 18 years or older. Meals are served at 1818 Corsicana Street. Please park in the parking lot at the corner of St. Paul and Corsicana in any open spot. Enter through our kitchen door marked with a Stewpot sign. It is near the pull-through loading area in the parking lot. We look forward to seeing you at 7:15 am.
