Dinner with NC State Coaches

Leadership and Coaching Through a Pandemic. Two dynamic and veteran coaches at NC State University will join us this evening and share their trials and tribulations while leading their teams successfully through a pandemic. Over a three-course chef curated dinner to include wine service, you will get the chance to listen to Coach Elliott Avent, baseball coach, and the women's basketball head coach, Wes Moore. Since taking over the Wolfpack in April of 2013, Moore has led the program to unprecedented success, highlighted by three-straight ACC Tournament titles and four-straight NCAA Tournament Sweet 16 berths. The team is coming off a 2021-22 season during which it swept the ACC regular season and tournament titles and made its first Elite Eight appearance since 1998. They finished that season with a 32-4 record. It's the first 30+ win season in program history. Moore was the 2022 ACC Coach of the Year and was honored as National Coach of the Year by the WBCA in 2021. Elliott Avent: Through 26 seasons as head baseball coach at NC State, Elliott Avent has molded the Wolfpack into one of the nation's best and most consistent programs. Starting with his hiring in 1996, Avent, who is NC State's all-time winningest coach with 962 victories (1,186 in his 34-year head coaching career), has taken the Wolfpack to the NCAA Tournament in 19 of the last 26 seasons and 14 of the last 18. Avent captured both ACC and National Coach of the Year honors in 2003 and was named USA Baseball's College Coach of the Year in 2021. He's also led the Wolfpack to two College World Series appearances in 2013 and 2021. Jeff Gravley - MC: In his role as the director of Content Strategy for NC State Athletics, Jeff will be the perfect man for this evening. In his role he now generates feature videos, podcasts, radio shows and hosts events the involve the university. Prior to his job at NC State Jeff Gravely, spent 34 for years in loval sports broadcasting, 31 at WRAL. Jeff is also a proud alumni and graduated from NC State in 1985, where he was a walk-on baseball player for the Wolfpack.
