UNC Traditions

Since its inception in 1993, The Carolina Club has been a private haven for our Members – alumni, faculty, staff and friends of the University of North Carolina. The Carolina Club is committed to providing excellent cuisine, unparalleled service and unique opportunities for business and social networking, all in a traditional Southern setting. The Carolina Club is located in the George Watts Hill Alumni Center and has become a family home, welcoming alumni and non-alumni alike. We host a variety of events throughout the year and would love for you to join us!

Tar Heel Thanksgiving
During the Thanksgiving holiday, there are many out-of-state and international students who are unable to travel home to be with their families for a Thanksgiving meal. For the past four years, the Membership of The Carolina Club has come together with the UNC Office of Student Affairs, the Student Leadership Advisory Committee and The Educational Foundation Inc. to provide a bountiful buffet free of charge to UNC-Chapel Hill students still on campus Thanksgiving Day. The complimentary meal is made possible by the generous donations of Carolina Club Members and The Education Foundation. This year over 495 students, representing 33 different countries and states, came to The Carolina Club, dined on a Thanksgiving feast and enjoyed the camaraderie and friendship of fellow students and Carolina Club Members.

Tar Heel Basketball
The Carolina Club is the place to be before all UNC Men’s Basketball home games! Get ready for all the action on game day by enjoying a delicious pre-game meal or your favorite beverage.

Breakfast with Santa
Santa Claus comes to The Carolina Club every December! Invite the entire family to share in the festivities including a delicious breakfast buffet, holiday music, a visit with Santa and a holiday cookie decorating station! This Member Favorite spreads great holiday cheer in Chapel Hill.
